Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is done through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Archdiocese.
Students at St Mark’s Catholic Primary School Drummoyne are encouraged to participate in the Catholic life of the school through prayer, meditation and involvement in the life of the parish. We provide faith formation opportunities to enhance Catholic practice. Students also attend whole school celebrations including our opening school Mass, feast day Mass for St Mary MacKillop and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Masses. Students attend a class Mass once a term and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year.
Family Masses for each grade occur on a Sunday throughout the year; this is an opportunity to celebrate our wonderful community as families gather and celebrate with morning tea afterwards.
Several students in Year 6 participate in faith formation sessions and in community service for the Pope Francis Award Program.
