We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Communicating with families
We pride ourselves on working in partnership with families and the community to achieve the best outcomes for your child’s education. We have invested in the Schoolzine digital communications platform supporting the school with smartphone and tablet friendly technology. We communicate with parents via our website, fortnightly newsletters, newsflash updates, smartphone app surveys and parent/teacher interviews. We also use the Compass student information system for school reports.
Parents can book an interview with a staff member through the school office on (02) 9181 3042 or via info@stmdrummoyne.catholic.edu.au
Engagement in learning
We engage you in your child’s learning through:
- our learning showcases at the end of each term
- using the Seesaw app for students to upload work directly to parents
- invitations to support learning in the classrooms and for classroom visits
- work samples sent home twice a term
- weekly assemblies
- ongoing communication between teachers and parents.
Supporting students
We are incredibly fortunate to have a community that is always willing to volunteer for activities that could not run without their generosity, especially for our carnivals and annual fete, which is a major fundraiser. We also have a Parents and Friends Association (P&F) to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community for the benefit of students’ development and learning.
